5 Ways to See Leadership
These are 5 Simple Metaphors to Explain Leadership. None of them is enough to explain it, they are only different points of view of the same coin: Leadership.
Leadership is a Process
When we talk about leadership is really easy to see that is not static, leadership as a human activity is dynamic. Is a process, you go from not leading to leading, and when you’re leading, you keep at it, until you’re done. It’s your responsibility to identify where in the process are you now, and from that point do your best to reach the vision.
Leadership is a Relationship
How many times have you heard that without followers there are no leaders? Well, without leaders there are no followers also. For leadership to exist is necessary that the both sides of the equation are filled. Leader + Followers = Leadership.
Like every human relationship leadership needs from certain qualities and skills to develop in order to have the most fruitful relationship as you can. And as you see for a great leadership to be developed some qualities have to exhibited by leaders, others by followers, and some others by leaders and followers as well.
Leadership is a Journey
Even before a leader formally starts leading, the journey has begun. Leadership is the journey the leader and the followers take to move towards the goals and visions that the leadership is intended for. In small endeavours the destination is within the timeframe of a lifespan, but for countries, nations or even our world, the leadership we need is a permanent travel to greater destinations. Finding the right path and the right track to lead is something that needs lots of practice and commitment to face the obstacles every journey has. Good leadership is about that.
Leadership is Attitude
This is one of the point of views about leadership I like the most, I do so, because it has to do with you, me and everyone no matter where we are now.
I always remember the story about the woman cleaning the floor at Nasa when J.F.Kennedy came to visit and asked her what she was doing, and she replied “I’m working to put a man on the moon”. That is the right attitude in every job we do, If we have a clear vision of what we want, it is crystal clear what we need to do to perform at our best, and be real leaders. Because, one of the great ways to lead, is by example, by proving you’re giving your best at what you do, you’re leading, you’re encouraging others to give their best too.
Leadership is Growing
Leadership develops, just like human life does. The thing is leadership is performed by us, humans. Thus, to improve or become better it should grow, it should grow with you. That’s why your inner growing says a lot about the quality of leadership you can exert. For instance, if you really want to make a difference in other people’s lives, you should foster habits and actions that prove you really care about others. To lead you have to grow, you have to become the person you need/want to be.

I find it so funny to understand leadership in its context because there are many ways of being a leader whether you like it or not.
For Christians, It is automatic that one is a leader.

I think leaders are reader, cos when u stop learning, u stop leading. The steps above is very simple to concrete, all u need to do is to start doing the necessary thing, then do the possible thing and a minute after, start doing the impossible. great article
