The next exercise will take you only 30 seconds and doing it could help you for the rest of your life!! I’m not joking… Â Check this out:
STEP 1. Take a look at the next picture and try to figure out what is it. Take 5 seconds….

What Is it?
STEP 2. Now  take a look at the next picture and try to figure out what is it. Take 5 seconds again.

What Is it?
Would you believe you were looking to the same object? Watch this:

It’s a Cylinder!!!
What do you think? All the pictures are just different views (representations) of reality. This example can help us to understand the way we see our world, our reality. Every person in this world has a unique point of view of the World. Sometimes that point of view is so different from our point of view that we can’t understand them.
What does it have to do with Leadership? A true leader knows this and is able to take two or three steps back and look at his world from the others’ point of view.
Leadership Actions:
Next time you talk with a friend, colleague, spouse or anyone about a particular subject try not to judge his position but to understand his/her view of the subject. Remember you might be looking at a circle and they might be looking to the rectangle. Be Alert, Be A Leader.

Excellent way to get the point across. We have to learn to respect others point
of view.
Excellent way of representing the topic. Will preactice on these line.
Excellent way of Representing the topic.I will practice and implement the same in day to day affair.
That is a good ex. of what we always try to do; do not judge, just understand. Thanks
Thanks for this great contribution, Kenneth!
I’ve used somewhat similar examples to lower the profile of some religious discussions – my example was a hill that you watch from the North, South, East and West sides: they might be made of the same soil but will nearly always look different – vines, for instance, will most often be on the sunny side, which
produces the best wine.
No one is always on the South side (well, for Chileans, I should say on the North) but, within a group, we will all be in turns, just not all at the same time. The aim of a great leader is to take profit of the sunny side without making those in the shade feel inferior. What do you think?
