What if I ask you to count how many O’s are there in the picture above?
After a while you would end up telling me the answer, counting each O from the figure.
But, a different, and easier, approach could be to count the X’s and after that substracting that number from the total number of boxes in the figure. That solution is much faster, and safer. Because you’re counting only 12 X’s in clear positions instead of 53 O’s.
A good leader knows how to re-formulate the problems before jumping into the solutions. That’s why you should learn to listen, to see, and try to look a problem in every posible way before going into action. I’m not saying don’t act, I’m saying act smart!!!
Next time you face a problem, ask yourself: Is this the real problem? Is there only one solution? What If I solve an easier problem, would that help?
After answering those questions… go and act!!!
