The second thing a candidate has to do if he wants to lead, according to Bennis, is to build trust. There are four ingredientes to build trust. These are:
It’s obvious that both candidates have appeal but it’s even more obvious that appeal alone won’t make them win the election. They had to show themselves prove all four “trust” ingredients to get the voters aproval. Each one showed himself/herself competent on his field, an tried to exhibit integrity, and being supportive and caring for their voters.
To win the election, both candidates try to show themselves as good as they can in terms of leadership, but at the same time, it helps to prove the contender is weak or not as competent as the other. The main goal is to be more trusteable than the other.
This election like any other is a matter to choose the leader that best represents the interests and aspirations of all the voters. In simple terms the candidate that better “connects” with the people, making them dream or showing them a meaningful vision of the future, and also gets and mantains the trust of the people. That is the the candidate that the people will choose.

- Why do you think Mrs. Clinton lost the election?
- How do you think leaders should articulate their campaigns to be succesful?
